SmartSeal

The SmartSeal series is Kastaş's product family that groups sealing elements by application. The series covers rod seals, piston seals, wipers, static seals, symmetrical seals, radial seals, back-up rings and guide elements.

The idea behind the series is to treat all the sealing and guiding elements a cylinder needs as one compatible system. Even if the rod seal, wiper and guide element are each chosen correctly, the expected life will not be reached if they do not work well together; the series approach builds in this compatibility at the design stage.

Which group to look at depends on where in the cylinder the sealing has to happen. If oil leaks out along the rod, look at rod seals; if the cylinder cannot hold its load, piston seals; if the rod surface gets dirty, wipers; if a stationary joint leaks, static seals. If the piston or rod rubs against the tube, the problem is guiding rather than sealing, and you should look at guide elements.
